see a landmark quilting 22nd annual event in Pigeon Forge, TN! The proud heritage
of this craft is deeply interwoven in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee,
so it's no wonder that the annual A Mountain Quiltfest event will yet again draw hundreds of quilters to the LeConte center this year.
The
heart of the event is a quilt show where quilts from across the country
are submitted and compete for over $20,000 in cash and prizes. There is
also a large vendor area with everything a quilter needs to perfect
their art.
This 3-day event also features 60 classes for both
experienced and rookie quilters alike. Registration for these courses is
now open and they cost anywhere from $40 – $60. These courses cover
everything from advanced techniques to antique quilt repair to beginners
workshops.
Quilters who wish to submit quilts to the competition
can do so on the official event website. For those interested, you can
also have your quilt critiqued by a NQS certified judge. When
event-goers aren't learning more about quilting, they can peruse the
quilts on display and marvel at the skill and craftsmanship it takes to
produce these beautiful works of art.
