Gatlinburg celebrates it's Appalachian culinary past with the Gatlinburg Beans 'n Cornbread Festival! Presented by Bush Brothers & Company.
Thursday, May 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. – Gatlinburg Beans and Cornbread Festival presented by Bush Brothers & Company. The event will feature a beans and cornbread cook-off, foot-stompin’ Smoky Mountain music, antique engines and lots of beans and cornbread for tasting!
Back this year by popular demand is the more than 15 rarely seen antique engines, along with strolling musicians playing old timey Appalachian music. “The antique engines were a crowd favorite at the festival last year, we are extremely grateful they agreed to come back again,” said city spokesperson, Marci Claude. “We really want to showcase the old way of doing things in the mountains.”
Festivalgoers are encouraged to come hungry and sample unlimited amounts of beans and cornbread. Area restaurants, businesses and caterers will be preparing traditional and new beans and cornbread recipes for tasting while vying for coveted top honors in the cookoff competition, all while featuring Bush’s Best Beans in their recipes.
The Gatlinburg Beans and Cornbread Festival presented by Bush Brothers & Company is Thursday, May 12 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the Parkway between traffic lights number 6 and 8. While the festival is free, visitors can purchase a spoon for $10 for unlimited sampling.
