Guests of the lodge just love our new fire pit, located next to our outdoor kitchen! Lots of folks utilizing both spaces to entertain new and old friends during an evening sunset! Spring thunderstorms come and go washing away the pollen for a day to give spring flowers that extra push they need to bloom. The weather is warming up nicely, with temps hitting the upper 70’s already – before Easter! Wild turkeys, deer, colorful songbirds and even some late night raccoons are coming by the lodge this spring!
This spring we are meeting more and more new guests as we sit by our new fire pit! So cozy to sit and watch the sunset with a crackling fire, and listen to nature. We offer campfire s’mores as an add on to anyone’s stay, and they’re already most often requested to this year’s bookings. We also have many return guests coming back to enjoy the serenity this vacation spot offers. We’re glad we could make your trip memorable.
Coming April 17-20 is the Great Smoky Easter Arts & Crafts Show – Unique handcrafted gifts and products produced by members of Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community are placed on display and offered for sale as they host their annual show at the Gatlinburg Convention Center. April 24-27 is The 69th Annual Wildflower Pilgrimage, which dates back to 1951, offers over 150 programs including an array of instructional walks and guided hiking tours tailored to meet individual walking skills and ability, along with demonstrations, motorcades, lectures centered on the flowers, plants and wildlife in the great outdoors . Here at Berry Springs Lodge, we are all ready to SPRING FORWARD. The recent rains have given way to green grass, blooms on our daffodils, and buds on the trees. Cooler temps at night, yet it warms up nicely during the day. Come stay with us this spring, where you’ll be treated to a free breakfast, freshly prepared by a new addition to our family. Patrick and Sue welcome Kate to the lodge. Come, stay, meet her, she’s always whipping up something delicious in the kitchen, duplicating or Berry Springs (Sue’s) recipes, or starting a cozy wood fire in the living room for the guests to enjoy. We love catering to our guests, and to better provide for you, we’ve brought Amy on board to assist Melissa in housekeeping.
Spring time also has us looking forward to DOLLYWOOD opening! So close by, you can’t miss visiting a local favorite. Opening weekend features the Festival of Nations. The park is beautifully decorated to represent diversity in culture, country or territory. Dollywoodis also set for a very large expansion in 2019, including new rides, attractions and PIRATES VOYAGE dinner and show, which has been proven very successful in Myrtle Beach S.C. Best time to visit this theme park is March 16th- April 14th, during the Festival of Nations. Bring your dancing shoes, and your appetite! You may even get to see Dolly Parton herself!
Other area things to do include hiking, drive the Great Smoky Mountains, local winery’s, moonshine tastings, or kick back and enjoy a stage show at the Smoky Mountain Opry, Wonders of Magic show, or Dolly Parton’s STAMPEDE.
