Spring Events in the Smoky Mountains

Spring thunderstorms come and go washing away the pollen for a day to give spring flowers that extra push they need to bloom. The weather is warming up nicely, with temps hitting the upper 70’s already – before Easter!  Wild turkeys, deer, colorful songbirds and even some late night raccoons are coming by the lodge this spring!

This spring we are meeting more and more new guests as we sit by our new fire pit! So cozy to sit and watch the sunset with a crackling fire, and listen to nature. We offer campfire s’mores as an add on to anyone’s stay, and they’re already most often requested to this year’s bookings. We also have many return guests coming back to enjoy the serenity this vacation spot offers. We’re glad we could make your trip memorable.

Coming April 17-20 is the Great Smoky Easter Arts & Crafts Show – Unique handcrafted gifts and products produced by members of Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community are placed on display and offered for sale as they host their annual show at the Gatlinburg Convention Center. To “Do the Loop” visit www.gatlinburgcrafts.com, for information.

April 24-27 is The 69th Annual Wildflower Pilgrimage, which dates back to 1951, offers over 150 programs including an array of instructional walks and guided hiking tours tailored to meet individual walking skills and ability, along with demonstrations, motorcades, lectures centered on the flowers, plants and wildlife in the great outdoors .  These tours showcase the abundant varieties of wildflowers, plants, ferns, mosses, trees and shrubs, as well as birds, reptiles and amphibians, all native to the Great Smoky Mountains. Please visit their official Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage website,  or call (865) 436-7318 ext. 222 for more information, or to register.
